Ordinance #101210-3, Speed Limit Ordinance
The Town Board of the Town of Clover, Bayfield County, Wisconsin, has the specific authority under s. 349.11, Wis. stats., to adopt this ordinance and does hereby ordain as follows:
- The speed limits on all town gravel roads within the Township of Clover are hereby set as Forty-five (45 mph) miles per hour except as follows:
a. Lenawee Rd – The speed limit on Lenawee Rd. from State Hwy 13 south for .5 miles (one half mile) will be set at twenty-five (25 mph) miles per hour. The speed limit on the remainder of Lenawee Road will be set at Forty-five (45 mph) miles per hour.
b. All roads and streets within downtown Herbster as listed below are to be posted at Twenty Five (25 mph) for the full length of each road: Willow St., Lake Ave., Hultman St., Park Ave., Wee Ave., and Old School Rd.
c. Bark Point Rd. from the intersection of State Hwy 13 for a distance of 1.1 miles (one and one tenth miles) to be posted at Twenty-Five (25 mph). The remainder of Bark Point Rd. to be posted at Thirty-five (35 mph).
d. Cemetery Road – The speed limit of thirty five (35 mph) miles per hour will be set from the intersection of State Hwy 13 for 1.1 miles (one and one tenth miles).
e. Cranberry River Road from the intersection of Lenawee Rd to the intersection of Touve Rd will be posted at thirty five (35 mph) miles per hour.
2. Said speed limits apply to all vehicle traffic, licensed or non-licensed, motorized or not.
3. Said speed limits shall be enforced by any local, county or state law enforcement agency.
4. Any infringement of this ordinance shall be punishable by fine and court costs as set by Bayfield County Circuit Court.
This ordinance shall be in effect and enforced, after its passage and approval by the State Department of Transportation, filing and publication and posting of speed limit signs.
