Johanna (Leppala) Orberg and Lily (Forsberg) Stark, both in their 90's, and daughters of early settlers on the Bark Point Road.
Ladies on the scooters: Eva Puig (right), celebrated her 95th birthday the day before the parade, and Elma Evanow (left), is 2 years younger.
They are daughters of Henry Hill, his picture on the grader was included in the Leppala tribute.
They had three brothers: Gerhard (who drowned in Lake Superior along with their dad), Albert and Theodore (who died in the '80's). Eva's husband, Ed died a few years ago. She lives in the white house on the highway next to the old Catholic church. Elma's daughter, Iva (lives in Texas) bought the house across the road. Her brother Gary Glass and his son Jamie live on that property. Elma lives in a lovely cottage next door on Hultman Road. Her husband, John died in '99.
With some help, both girls live alone in their own homes though in their 90's! And they still get
